Poetry as an art form predates literacy. It uses a condensed form to convey emotions or ideas and employs devices such as assonance and repetition to achieve musical or incantatory effects. Poems can be brought to life through illustrations that aim at elucidating or embellishing them. Illustrations bring to life ideas and concepts through image making.

Rules:

• The participants must write a poem of twelve to sixteen lines on a word provided on the spot, which has to be taken as the theme for the poem. The content should be original. Plagiarism will lead to disqualification.
• The poem can be in free verse or set to a rhyme pattern.
• The poem will be written on an A4 sheet. A coloured print of the illustration drawn in MS Paint/Photoshop, along with the poem must be submitted to the Event Incharge. The soft copies of the same shall also be shared.
